1.  As book and record stores keep morphing from small independents to Tower Records to Amazon.com, one would think that our range of interests would grow exponentially.

2.  As elected representatives of our government, you would think they would want to make it as easy as possible to communicate with their constituents.

3.  As far as the Patriots are concerned, you would think New York City would have the most vocal and critical fans.

4.  Approaching the 1998 season, the Giants would have been thought of as a team no more than a year away from being a legitimate Super Bowl contender.

5.  Ditto for lots of young men who will never be thought of as good ol' boys, and an increasing number of women.

6.  Decades later, Pollard said, "We wouldn't think about smoking or drinking in front of him even today."
